Quick Start Guide

See the Cisco Quick Start Guide for an overview of using your Cisco desk phone.

VoIP Transition Phase

You will have two phones on your desk during the VoIP transition at your location.  Your phones will behave as follows during that time.

  • VoIP Phone:  You can make calls to others on the VoIP system and outside numbers.  You will only receive calls from other persons on the VoIP system.
  • Centrex Phone:  You can make and receive calls between any two numbers.

Dialing Instructions

The dialing plan for the VoIP system is different than the dialing plan for the Centrex system.  Use the following guide to help you determine how to place your call.  You can determine whether a UWSA employee is on VoIP or Centrex by referencing the Staff Directory.

Important Note:  The Cisco VoIP desk phones work more like cellular phones than traditional analog phones.  Please dial your number before picking up the receiver or pressing the “Call” button.
